The Announcement feature in MySJU allows for the sharing of information with the entire campus community or a targeted subset of the community. Information conveyed in an announcement must be University-related and may not promote matters that are personal in nature. References to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, nudity and any other topic deemed inappropriate are not permitted.
There are three types of announcements in MySJU, namely Personal, Campus and Community.
Personal Announcements
Personal announcements appear under the Today's Announcement channel at the top of the SJU Today page. These announcements may be targeted to the entire University community or a subset of the community. Posting privileges are distributed to select representatives from each Vice Presidential area. These representatives review each Personal announcement request for content suitability. Contact one of the following representatives if you are interested in posting a Personal Announcement:

Announcements may be targeted to all students, employees, faculty, undergraduate day student, specific class of students (e.g. Freshman, Sophomore), students by major and more.
Campus Announcements
Campus announcements appear under the Today's Announcement channel at the top of the SJU Today page. These announcements are targeted to the entire University community. Posting privileges are distributed to select representatives from each Vice Presidential area (same representatives as listed above).
Community Announcements
Like Personal and Campus announcements, Community announcements appear under the Today's Announcement channel at the top of the SJU Today page. Like Campus announcements, Community announcements are directed to the entire campus community, in other words, there is no way to target the announcement to a specific segment of the campus community. Anyone with access to MySJU, can submit a request for the posting of a Community Announcement. All announcement requests are submitted electronically using the "Post an Announcement" link on the SJU Today page. Announcement requests must include the event title, description, start date of posting, end date of posting and event type. An optional URL may be provided if a related web site exists. Requests will be reviewed daily by the MySJU Content Team to ensure requests are appropriate and written in publishable format including correct spelling and grammar. Once the request has been reviewed, an email notice will be sent to the requesting party informing the person as to whether the request was approved or rejected. Rejected requests may be re-submitted by the requestor. Once approved, the message is displayed programmatically from the start date until the end date of the posting.
