Calls placed from a resident’s room to off-campus numbers do not require the use of a Personal Identification Number (PIN). To place a call, simply dial '9' + '1' + the number you wish to reach. Domestic calls will be completed and will not be billed. Students will only be billed the same flat fee of $60 (as in previous years), to cover the cabling, system, and technology service infrastructure. Students are able to call anywhere in the United States without charge. Given the uneven quality of many cellular services on campus and the opportunity to reduce usage minutes on cellular phone plans, we expect that students will realize substantial cost savings through use of their campus extension while also enjoying a higher quality connection. Note, however, that the University will not permit abuse of this service and will continue to monitor student usage for unacceptable use.
