DTerm Series E Telephone NEC 2400

Function/Feature Keys:

CONF (Conference)-

To connect call or called party to third party, press TRANSFER (Transfer) proceeded by the number that you wish to include. As soon as the third party is connected press the CONF button, the light on the button will light up when all parties are connected.

FEATURE-

This button is to activate terminal setup functions at your phone and to program One-Touch Speed Dial/Feature Keys.

FEATURE + 1 = Turns microphone on or off.

FEATURE + 2 = Adjusts handset receiver volume.

FEATURE + 3 = Selects ringer tone.

FEATURE + 4 = Adjusts transmission volume.

FEATURE + 5 = Activates hands-free operation.

FEATURE + 6 = Deactivates hands-free operation.

FEATURE + 7 = Turns call indicator lamp on or off for incoming call notification.

HOLD-

This button is used to place calls on hold. If you wish to place a call on hold that you don't want anyone else to answer (Exclusive Hold) then press the Hold button twice. The display will read EHD (Exclusive Hold) on both phones.

REDIAL-

Last number redial - Each time that this button is pressed it will display up to the last 5 numbers dialed. Once you see the number that you wish to redial, press * and the phone will dial the requested number.

RECALL-

This button will give you new dial tone. This works just like hanging the phone receiver on the cradle without the "crashing" sound of the receiver hitting the telephone cradle.

SPEAKER-

This button controls the speakerphone feature of the telephone. Press it and you will receive dial tone. To hold a conversation over the speakerphone the MIC light must be on or you will only hear the called party, they will not be able to hear you. To activate the MIC press the button directly below MIC on the LED display or FEATURE + 1. The light will come on and *MIC will display on the LED. If you press the button directly below *MIC on the LED display or FEATURE + 1 again the light will go out notifying you that the MIC is no longer active.

TRANSFER-

This button allows a station to transfer a caller to another station. When transferring a call press TRANSFER and then the number that you wish to transfer the call to. If you want to get the call back to you before someone answers or you have miss dialed, press the TRANSFER button again and you will get that caller back.

UP/DOWN(Down ArrowUp Arrow)-

This function is used to adjust the LCD contrast, speaker/receiver volume and ringer volume.

* LCD Contrast:
Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow key while phone is IDLE (not being used).

* Speaker/Receiver Volume:
Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow key during conversation.

* Ringer Volume:
Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow key while phone is ringing.

 

SPEED DIAL PROGRAMMING-

Press FEATURE, the button to be programmed, the number that you wish to be programmed (if this is an outside number make sure that you include the 9 first) and then the FEATURE button again. The display will read SPEED SET. You may check it by simply pressing the One-Touch button that you just programmed and the phone will display the number programmed and dial the number by using the speakerphone.

NOTE: To program a pause, if needed, press the RECALL button to insert the pause where necessary.
