Accounts/Passwords
As a student or current employee at Saint Joseph's University, you have been assigned a computer account that gives you access to a number of technology services. To access these services, you need to know your account name (sometimes referred to as your username) and password. You are also assigned an alias to your email which is firstname.lastname@sju.edu, this is designed to make it easier for you to distribute your new email address.
Requirements
To connect to the campus network, you will need:
- A computer with a 10/100 Ethernet network card or a wireless network card.
- In some locations, you may also be required to complete Network Registration

Disk Space/Quotas
Saint Joseph's University supplies you with free disk storage to save e-mail and documents. This storage is for e-mail which is queued or left on the server, and well as documents saved to your home folder or "J: drive". For faculty and staff, this may also include files and folders saved to share drives, such as your departmental "S: drive".
Students are allocated 75 Mbytes.
Staff are allocated 100 Mbytes.
Faculty are allocated 250 Mbytes.

Print Queues
The Print Queue Utility was designed so that Faculty and Staff members with a university issued username and password can request to have a NETWORK PRINTERS' Print Queue cleared.

Networked Devices
All personal computers and other networked devices must be registered before they can be used on the Saint Joseph's University network. If you have a device other than a PC, such as an XBOX or PDA, please contact the Student HelpDesk to make an appointment to have your device registered.
J: Drive (Home Folder) Access
Every faculty member, staff member, and student of Saint Joseph's has what is called a "J: Drive", also known as a home drive or home folder. This is space allotted to you on the SJU network for you to store important files and documents.
S: Drive (Shared Drive) Access
Every deparment of Saint Joseph's has what is called an "S: Drive", also known as a shared drive. This is space allotted to the department on the SJU network for you to store important files and documents that you wish to share with other members of your department. Anytime you login to a MS Window-based university computer, your personal S: Drive will automatically be available for you to access.
