The following information is helpful for
Barbelin 221, 264, Bellarmine 301 and Science Center 109
Please Note: Some
rooms "Push Button Controls" may differ slightly but they all function
the same way.
Standard Push Button Control System
1. POWER ON THE PC.Check the PC located in the podium. If the PC is off press the power button. If the PC is already on press the enter key twice to wake it up.
2. STARTING THE SYSTEM.To start the Control System, push the "DISPLAY POWER" button. A green light will indicate that the system is on and the screen will come down from the ceiling.
3. PREPARING THE MEDIA.
These rooms are equipped with a VCR and a DVD player.
Please Note: Bellarmine 301 is equipped with an international VCR which play both PAL and NTSC VHS tapes.
If you are using a VHS tape or a DVD place the media in the required player. Make sure that the VCR or DVD player is on.
If not, push the power button and the LCD display should light up indicating the media player is on.
4. CONTROLING THE MEDIA.
You can control both the VCR and DVD players from the podium. The podium is equipped with "Push Button Controls".
The VCR controls are labeled"VCR CONTROL". They have standard VCR control functions:
- Fast Forward
- Play
- Fast Rewind
- Pause
- Stop
The DVD controls are labeled "DVD CONTROL". They have standard DVD control functions:
- Menu
- Title
- Enter
- Previous
- Play
- Next
- Pause
5. SELECTING A SOURCE TO DISPLAY.To select a source to display such as PC, Laptop, VCR, DVD...push the button located above or below that source.
Once you select a source to display on the screen that source will light "blue" to indicate it has been selected.
Your source will now display on the screen.
Push Button Shutdown Procedure
1. REMOVING THE MEDIA.Remove your VHS tape or DVD from the players and/or disconnect the laptop cable and Ethernet cable from your laptop.
Do not disconnect the laptop cable and Ethernet cable from the podium.
2. SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM.Push and hold the "DISPLAY POWER" button until you hear a "click" and then release the button.
The projector will power off, the screen will recess into the ceiling and the DVD and VCR will power off.
The room is now completely powered off.
